Here are the 25 local breweries that will pour at the 2023 Rochester Real Beer Expo
More than 1,200 ballots were cast. This year's Expo is increasing its local focus by doubling the number of Rochester-area breweries invited.

There’s really no need to make this post more complicated or long-winded than it needs to be. You opened this email or clicked on this link, because you want to what local brewers were picked to pour at the 2023 Rochester Real Beer Expo.
In my first year as curator, I was absolutely blown away by the amount of support the local ballot received. It’s simple to see that folks in the Rochester region love craft beer. That is evidenced by the more than 1,200 votes we received.
So here are your favorite local spots, the ones who will be invited to Expo this year at Innovative Field. (Breweries are listed in alphabetical order.)
And because I’m a nerd, I think it is important to highlight that Strangebird, the reigning New York state craft brewery of the year, was the top vote-getter. It was followed by Canandaigua’s Frequentem Brewing, Swiftwater Brewing in the South Wedge, Other Half Brewing from East Bloomfield, Livonia-based Rising Storm Brewing, Rochester’s Fifth Frame Brewing, and Avon’s Mortalis Brewing. Those top seven really separated themselves from the rest of the field.
The 11th edition of the Rochester Real Beer Expo takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. (that first hour is for exclusive VIP access) on Saturday, June 10, at Rochester’s Innovative Field, home of the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings baseball club. VIP, general admission, and designated driver tickets are on sale right now and can be purchased here: https://www.ticketreturn.com/prod2new/BuyNew.asp?EventID=335401.
Right now, we’ve also received commitments from Prison City Brewing (Auburn), Beer Tree Brewing (multiple locations in the Binghamton area), Lagunitas Brewing, Human Robot Brewery (Philadelphia), Great Notion Brewing (Portland, Oregon), Wild East Brewing (Brooklyn), and remain close to wrapping up a few others.
And keep your eyes fixed on this space as I’ll be announcing the rest of the participating breweries as they commit. I’m hoping to showcase new and exciting regional spots that have never been featured or poured in Rochester. Wish me luck!
