Vote Genesee for '23: New campaign encourages public to pick the next Genny seasonal
You've already got Ruby Red Kolsch, Spring Bock, Cran Orange Kellerbier, Oktoberfest, and Tropical Pineapple Kolsch. So what should be next? Genny wants you to decide.
Note: The Genesee Brewery has kindly partnered with the Cleveland Prost to announce this latest campaign.
Politics, especially nowadays, can really divide us. But that doesn’t have to be the case. So the Genesee Brewery is putting the fun back into the process.
The state’s oldest brewery is calling on the public in an election we can all get behind. Through its Vote Genesee for ‘23 campaign, Genny is inviting its fans to choose its next specialty seasonal release now through the end of March.
Ballots can be cast in person at the Genesee Brew House, 25 Cataract St. in Rochester, at a number of rotating, participating venues and businesses, and also online at geneseebeer.com/geneseefor23.
And by following @geneseebrewery on social media (whether it be Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), the public can find additional pop-up voting booths across Rochester and Buffalo.
Because it maintains a regional identity and footprint, the creative minds at Genny believe it is better able to connect with the public. And because of that same reason, Genny maintains the ability to release what could very well become your new favorite seasonal staple. Following in the footsteps of other specialty releases like Ruby Red Kolsch, Spring Bock, Cran Orange Kellerbier, Oktoberfest, and Tropical Pineapple Kolsch, you now have the power to pick what you will enjoy soon. Genny said the goal is to release the newly elected seasonal choice across the region
“People have created the Genesee story for generations. Now we’re looking for our most loyal fans to help us create our next beer,” Genny brand director Jaime Polisoto said in a release. “We are a regional brewery, which gives us the opportunity to engage our community and brew them what they want. And that’s what we plan on doing, so cast your vote and let your voice be heard.”
According to the Genny brand team, all four “candidates embrace a crisp and delicious cold weather agenda.” Here’s a breakdown of the four candidates:
Pear Cinnamon
This one is designed to be light and refreshing, featuring complimentary flavors. Expect the flavors to be subtle, while serving as a good accompaniment to many of the seasonal dishes we enjoy to mark the holidays. Genny promises it will “delight no matter the fickle weather of upstate New York in fall.”
Winter Citrus
We already know Genny utilizes citrus flavors exceedingly well, so this promising candidate will look to deliver vibrant citrus fruits “to the forefront of a smooth base.” It promises to bring thoughts of summer and wishes for winter during that goofy in-between season we always experience in western New York.
Winter Berry
The beer pledges to be one to unify a multitude of fruit flavors, including raspberry and cherry. It promises to be both refreshing and light, something “like no other,” Genny promises. The ale has the potential to “reach across the aisle with pale malts and subtle hop character.” Sounds like a character we can all get behind.
Apple
What is more upstate New York than apples? This candidate desires to deliver the quintessential harvest flavor of apple in a balanced beer. It promises to deliver an experience each time you partake. And that is certainly a campaign promise worth following up on.
I already know how I’m gonna vote and I can’t wait to see which candidate prevails. Hope to see you out at the polls. And unlike our latest elections, I think we can all expect this one to move forward without claims of voter fraud or without eager drinkers storming the gates of the St. Paul Street brewery campus. I do, however, encourage participation, as well as a flight from the brewery’s pilot system inside the Genesee Brew House.
Expect the new seasonal to be available later this year, Genny said. For more detail on the campaign, visit geneseebeer.com/geneseefor23.
